Here are some media interviews and talks I’ve given trying to spread the word about the need for improved maternal mental health care. Every voice counts!
Not an April fool’s joke! When Canadian olympian Silken Lauman asked me to share my story for her new mental health platform, We Are Unsinkable, of course, I gladly did!
Genevieve Desrochers is an incredible fellow Canadian mom with lived experience who is not afraid to share her experience to help others. She wrote a book (in English and French!) and shared its contents on YouTube. I was lucky enough to be interviewed by Genevieve for her YouTube channel: Postpartum, Let’s Talk!
When Heather Down of Wintertickle Press and Barrie City Councillor Natalie Harris invited me to contribute to their mental health anthology, Brainstorm Revolution, I jumped at the chance and wrote about a night I had in the ER called “Postpartum Repression”. I loved joining fellow authors at multiple Chapters book signings. Other contributors to the anthology include Michael Landsberg and Deb McGrath.
I was a keynote speaker at the 2018 Parental Brain Conference in Toronto.
I was a keynote speaker at 2018 second annual March for Mental Health Toronto.
I was a keynote speaker at World Maternal Mental Health Day Walk in Barrie.
I was interviewed by Sarah Lajeunesse from This Kinda Life for Global news and 93.1 Fresh Radio Fresh Moms Club during Maternal Mental Health week.
I was interviewed on CTV News in Barrie at the 1st annual Walk for World Maternal Mental Health Day.
I was interviewed by Christine Bentley and Kate Wheeler on What She Said 105.9 The Region about my article in the Huffington Post on moms in Canada with postpartum depression being reported to child services.
